Finance needed for women’s business in Cambodia
Banks and other financial institutions are being encouraged to give loans to small and medium businesses run by women in Cambodia.
Cambodia’s Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pormoniroth said a lack of capital is the main thing stopping women with small business from growing.
According to the International Finance Corporation 40 per cent of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are owned or managed by women.
Acleda Bank recently received an investment of $160 million through a syndicated loan from the International Finance Cooperation to help provide finance for women owned SMEs.
