Cambodia’s new population policy to raise the status of women
The Cambodian Government has launched a new National Population Policy to help guide the country’s development and population-related decisions to 2030.
The policy was created with help from the United Nations Population Fund.
Marc Derveeuw, UNFPA representative in Cambodia said:
“The policy has huge potential to boost the status of women, make Cambodia more gender-equal and boost opportunities for young people. We’re also delighted that it’s rooted in key international human rights commitments and aims to benefit all Cambodians, including vulnerable and marginalized groups.”
