Education on family violence needed for police in Cambodia

A meeting on preventing family violence has identified Cambodian police have more to learn about domestic violence laws. Cultural bias also plays a part in violence being overlooked.

Deputy director of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs’ legal protection department, Sar Sineth, told a meeting of the government’s Technical Working Group on Gender-Based Violence that district and commune police are ignorant about the law.
