Remote Reef Islands welcome water supply projects

Women and children living in remote Reef Islands in the Solomon Islands have welcomed new water supply projects.

Before the projects many girls in the villages were tasked with walking long distances to fetch water every day.

Temotu Pele MP Dudley Kopu said:

“Often the girls are blamed for water at home. This has been the tradition at our homes in the Reefs because the parents are usually doing other household needs and the girls are tasked to fetch water. This is for you to enjoy and thank you girls for your hard work in the past.”
