Fijian women encouraged to pursue male-dominated trades
Fiji’s Ministry of Youth secretary Alison Burchell wants to see more women entering male-dominated trades, such as carpentry.
Key to encouraging women and girls into these traditional male roles, says Burchell, is changing the mind-set and creating an environment that makes it easy for females to fit into these jobs, and normal for them to be in them.
