What will 2016 bring for Pacific women?

For the first time, women will make up 10% of new members of Samoan parliament, thanks to temporary measures to be introduced with the upcoming March election.

Samoa is the first country in the region to introduce such measures at the national level. According to Tess Newton Cain, women’s groups are advocating for women to fill even more seats.
