UNFPA acknowledges collaboration for the benefit of women in Fiji after Cyclone Winston
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has acknowledged the work of the Fijian government and non-government organisations in their gender-related response to Tropical Cyclone Winston.
The response has seen the Ministry of Women establish women-friendly spaces with help from the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre and Empower Pacific.
UNFPA’s Subregional Office Director Dr Laurent Zessler said: “UNFPA commends the dedication and commitment of our partners in the Cyclone Winston health response in particular the Government of Fiji through the ministries we collaborated with to roll out assistance for communities, especially women and girls.”
