Training for Myanmar’s female workers

68 female workers in textile, garment and mining industries have been trained in team building, leadership and communication skills.

Workshops held by the Confederation of Trade Unions in Myanmar (CTUM) in partnership with IndustriALL aimed to increase awareness of and strengthen women’s participation in trade unions and leadership positions.

For most participants, this was the first time they were given the opportunity to share their experiences as women in the workplace.

Despite having paid jobs, traditional gender roles mean that women are still responsible for unpaid care work, hindering them from fully participating in the workplace.
