Solomon Islands women’s hockey team’s international debut

The Solomon Islands women’s team played their international debut game against Fiji.

The match was part of the FIH Hockey World League Round One.

The team took on Fiji at National Hockey Centre in Suva, Fiji. Solomon Islands lost their first match 9-1.

Team official Eddie Koke said:

“This is the first time we have come to play hockey since this is also the first Solomon Islands women’s team ever formed.

Solomon Islands is only known for Futsal and football, but we are happy we have started in hockey. We had to look for players from schools and in communities to form the team.”
