Solomon Islands woman receives Queen’s birthday honour
Angeline Merle Aqorau, 77 from Solomon Islands has become a Member of the Order of the British Empire for her service to women and commerce.
The award was presented to Ms Aqorau from the acting Governor General Ajilon Nasiu in early June.
Ms Aqorau has spent most of her life working to further women’s rights in the Solomon Islands.
