Solomon Islands’ national gender equality and women’s development policy

Thirty stakeholders recently met in the Solomon Islands to discuss the challenges in implementing the government’s national gender equality and women’s development policy, which expires at the end of the year. Among the issues highlighted was the need for more accurate and substantial mechanisms to report on gender issues.

However, achievements made by the ministry, such as the enactment of the Family Protection Act, were also acknowledged.
