Solomon Islands electoral officials consider gender


The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission is aiming to become leaders in the push for gender equality and become a more “gender sensitive and transformative” organisation, said Chief Electoral Officer Polycarp Haununu.

The “Gender and Us” workshop, held over two days, will ask staff to consider their attitudes, behaviours, stereotypes and biases. All participants will be able to develop a common understanding of what gender equality means, with a focus on gender mainstreaming during the electoral cycle.
