‘She Leads’ voter education for Myanmar women
A training program called She Leads is providing voter education to women in Myanmar. In 14 states and regions throughout the country, participants are given the tools and confidence to spread voting information with those in their communities.
Organisers have said that this program is “designed to help address the lack of women’s leadership in political and decision-making processes at all levels”. The classes are also helping to teach women about the democratic process, and encouraging them to ask questions and think about what the candidates and political parties stand for.
