Women’s Pathways to Leadership

Women are leaders across Asia and the Pacific. But they face significant cultural, socio-economic and political barriers to accessing leadership positions.

The Women’s Pathways to Leadership: Our Pathways, Our Voice Research investigates how and why women become leaders, despite and because of these barriers.

A total of 121 women leaders across five countries in the Asia-Pacific shared their experiences with IWDA partners who were trained and supported to understand research itself as a strategy social change that can ultimately help to empower the women who shared their stories.

Built not only to gather more data on women’s leadership, this research recognises, promotes and celebrates the experiences of these women and aims to inspire and guide a new generation on their pathways to leadership.
