Submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry into strengthening Australia’s relationships with countries in the Pacific Region

Strong relationships between Australia and our Pacific neighbours are crucial in order to create a peaceful and flourishing region, where people live free from poverty and inequality. Gender equality is a key development challenge for the Pacific region, which, until realised, will render achievement of other regional and national development priorities elusive.

This submission outlines IWDA’s recommendations to strengthen Australia’s approach to women’s empowerment and gender equality, in order to deepen relationships with Pacific countries and improve outcomes of Pacific Step-up activities.
