IWDA Infrastructure Position Paper
As part of a range of new initiatives under the Pacific Step-Up, the Australian Government has established the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific (AIFFP). The AIFFP includes $1.5 billion in locans and $500 million in grants for the infrastructure projects in the Pacific region, and represents a significant shift in the way that Australia finances development.
As the AIFFP is rolled out over the coming years, it will be critical to ensure that the Facility is meeting the development needs of the Pacific region, which includes addressing gender inequality and climate change.
