Plan International’s SDG recommendations highlight need for rights of women and girls

Plan International has released its recommendations for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Third on the list states that, in order to meet these goals, governments must realise the human rights of all girls and women.

“The framework demonstrates a commitment to achieve transformative change by setting out to remove specific barriers such as child, early and forced marriage, empowering girls, protecting girls’ rights, and ensuring equal access to education, economic resources, political participation, employment, and leadership.”
