Legal Lessons: Legislating Attitude Change

Men’s violence against women affects more women than it spares in Solomon Islands, despite recently recognising domestic violence as unlawful in the Family Protection Act. There are a number of factors that contribute to the pervasiveness of violence against women in the Solomons. IWDA works to advance women’s political and economic empowerment to enable them to create lasting social change and lead responses to violence against women.

Programs and strategies that promote women’s leadership are key objectives of IWDA’s Funding Leadership Opportunities for Women program.
