IWDA and IDM welcome Joanna Pradela
The Individual Deprivation Measure (IDM) team is thrilled to announce that from April 2018, Joanna Pradela will commence in the role of Team Leader, IWDA Individual Deprivation Measure Team.
Joanna brings over a decade of experience in the international development and humanitarian sectors, with a focus on research, program management, policy and advocacy.
She has a strong record of advocating for social change using evidence-based and multi-stakeholder strategies. As a skilled strategist and communicator, her experience and expertise will be particularly as we ready the IDM for global use by 2020, and the growth trajectory to come.
Joanna has most recently been in the role of Director of Policy and Advocacy at the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), the peak body for the not-for-profit aid and development sector in Australia.
Speaking to the IDM team’s Communications Coordinator Julia Nicholson, Joanna said ‘I’m thrilled to be joining this outstanding team at such an exciting stage of the IDM’s development and look forward to supporting the growing impact that can be achieved in addressing poverty through better measurement of who is poor, in what ways and to what extent.’
‘Combining the possibilities presented by working in a multi-sector partnership on a gender-sensitive measure of poverty and sitting inside a feminist development agency is a unique opportunity,’ said Joanna. ‘I am honoured to be a part of this ambitious program, which is changing how poverty is measured. We cannot achieve the goal of transformative development without gender equality and the IDM is an incredible new tool that will help us move to that reality.’
Welcome Joanna!
