How Elizabeth Broderick led change by making gender equity a contest
Former Sex Discrimination Commissioner Elizabeth Broderick changed the perception that the under-representation of women in leadership was a women’s issue. Through gathering some of the most powerful male business figures in Australia – responsible for nearly half a million employees – to form the Male Champions of Change club, gender equity became a competition. The members of this club resolved to set benchmarks in a race to increase their recruitment of women.
