Gender equality, peace and security in Nepal and Myanmar
PRIO has received funding for a new 3-year project, Gender Equality, Peace and Security in Nepal and Myanmar (WOMENsPEACE).
Focusing on the gender dimension of disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration (DDR), this project will work with local women’s associations in both nations. Very few case studies on the link between DDR processes and gender have been conducted.
Future workshops in Kathmandu and Yangon will “bring together women’s organisations, female politicians, activists and civil society, to share experiences on the role of women in conflict”.
