Equal Opportunity – Increased Output
According to The World Bank, it is estimated that if women were afforded equal participation in the economy through formal employment, the economic benefits would improve productivity and output by up to 18%. The economic costs of inequality have been widely reported but the dialogue needs to shift and instead focus on the economic benefits of equality to motivate employers to be agents of change in the Pacific.
IWDA’s Funding Leadership and Opportunities for Women program partners with local civil society organisations across the Pacific to deliver leadership workshops and training sessions. These programs are developed locally and designed to enhance women’s confidence to assume positions of formal and informal leadership and enter into formal employment.
