Empowering rural women

Rural women have the ability to achieve social, environmental and economic change that is necessary for the development of a sustainable future. Yet, many of these women face gender-based challenges – as well as a lack of access to healthcare and education – that are worsened by climate change and global food crises.

Ensuring the empowerment of women in rural areas is key to not only the wellbeing of entire communities, but to overall economic productivity, particularly in the agricultural workforce.
