Domestic violence isn’t solved by making women homeless

In Australia, the main cause of homelessness for women and children is domestic violence. The removal of survivors rather than the perpetrators from homes is seen as a safe solution, but hiding these women away in substandard housing conditions often compounds the trauma of violence.
