CEO Lubna Olayan helps hundreds of Saudi women enter the workforce

23.09.15

Once the only female employee out of 4,000, Lubna Olayan is now the CEO of her father’s business, Olayan Financing Co. (OFC), in Saudi Arabia.

Tradition has long kept Saudi women out of the workforce, but OFC has gradually taken on over 400 female employees. While this shows that Saudi society has begun giving more women greater economic power, those 400 women account for just 3% of the company’s now 12,000 employees.

Olayan is regularly involved in sourcing candid feedback from her female employees, encouraging them to express any concerns and challenges.
