A gender-inclusive humanitarian agenda

FemLINKPACIFIC is amplifying its recommendations to recognise, include and ensure that women are involved in the structures of leadership and decision making.

This extra push for a gender-inclusive humanitarian agenda comes as natural disasters, as well as prolonged drought, are predicted for the year ahead.

Sharon Bhagwan-Rolls, Executive Producer-Director of FemLINKPACIFIC, says that future humanitarian responses must consider the ongoing discrimination that women face.

“Approaches need to change so that issues such as violence against women are not normalised.”
