Papua New Guinea’s gender record criticised at United Nations review

Concerns about Papua New Guinea’s progress with gender equality and violence against women and children were raised at the country’s human rights review at the UN.

Papua New Guinea’s deputy permanent representative to the UN, Fred Sarufa, said progress had been made to improve human rights in the country, including the passing of the Family Protection Act.
