One in Two is One Too Many
Gender-based violence is so prevalent in the Asia-Pacific region that one in two men before the age of 20 have been involved in rape. This violent reality and culture of abuse is revealed in a study conducted by Partners for Prevention in September 2013. The report aims to gain a greater understanding of men’s use of violence against women in order to determine the most effective prevention practices.
IWDA’s Funding Leadership Opportunities for Women program recognises that women in the Pacific experience the worst rates of violence in the world. IWDA partners with local women’s rights organisations to strengthen their capacity and effectiveness, and provide better quality services to survivors of violence.
