IWDA welcomes new board member Sarah Goulding

19.05.25

IWDA is delighted to announce that Sarah Goulding has been appointed as its newest board member.

Sarah has a strong, informed voice on gender equality and development, which she built up over 21 years at DFAT, where her focus was on Health, Education and Gender Equality. She held the role of Assistant Secretary – Principle Specialist on Gender Equality for 3 years at DFAT and delivered the 2025 DFAT International Gender Equality Strategy.

Sarah has built up a strong relationship with IWDA over many years, which enabled IWDA to take the opportunity to consult on the government’s latest foreign policy position on gender, which holds a strong line in a world where governments around the world are walking back their position on gender.

As well as lasting connections to government, Sarah holds many valuable relationships with the development sector and in local, international feminist spaces.

Sarah has also served as Vice Chair to the Gavi Vaccine Alliance. She is a member to the UN partnership on the Rights of People with Disabilities, and was appointed as a life Member to YWCA in 2020.

We look forward to the contributions Sarah will make during her time at IWDA and welcome her to the IWDA team.
