Disrupting the approach to gender inequality in the workforce

According to Qantas CEO Alan Joyce, Sex Discrimination Commissioner Elizabeth Broderick has paved the way for large corporations in Australia to “move the dial on women in leadership”. CBA CEO Ian Narev says that excuses such as “the ‘pipeline’ of talented women [being] too narrow” must be left at the door, with quality not having to be compromised in order to see more women in leadership roles.

Joyce and Narev are just two members of the Male Champions of Change initiative, and believe in putting in the time and effort to support women in their workplaces.

Angela Priestley discusses the lunch held to offer a progress report on this initiative, and for CEOs to share the ways their organisations have effectively changed in order to promote gender equality.
