Are Australian businesses finally hiring more women in tech roles?
While the industry is still heavily male-dominated, research by recruitment firm Robert Half shows that Australia has made the most progress towards employing more women in the technology sector. This follows an international push to hire more women in tech roles, and is especially true of small to medium-sized companies, including start-ups.
Tech Girls Movement is just one program encouraging females to pursue careers in technology, by engaging girls through books and competitions. Founder Jenine Beekhuyzen believes it is crucial to keep monitoring the roles women are being hired in to measure change.
