Empowering rural women through conservation

05.02.16

The women of the Ksar Tizagharine Oasis in Morocco used to depend on the men in their families. Now, the opportunity to participate in training courses and travel is empowering them into traditionally male-dominated work.

The Annama Association for the Development of Rural Women is allowing determined women to achieve financial independence. The programme aims to combat poverty and desertification through the conservation and development of oases, using the valuable knowledge of women in the areas.
