Youthful Perspectives In Policy
August 19, 2015
IWDA Funding Leadership and Opportunities for Women program partner FemLINKPACIFIC recently conducted a learning exchange. The importance of considering young women as voters and decision-makers emerged as a key point of discussion.
Reflecting on the exchange, individual participants highlighted key areas that require more attention from policy makers. To address women’s security in the public space, there were calls for better infrastructure to light up dark streets, greater consequences for sexual harassment, and more effective support from authorities.
Listening to the concerns and perspectives of young women is essential to the policy-making process and to create a coherent and inclusive society.
