Free program encourages women to get involved in Solomon Islands

August 2, 2016

An open women’s rugby training session has been confirmed in the Solomon Islands.

The program is hoping to entice any new hopefuls and current players to develop their skills. The ‘tag’ rugby session is free and will run over the course of three weekends.

The Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation said:

“The program is free, so young girls and women from schools and communities in Honiara who wish to learn and try out tag rugby, which is similar to touch rugby, or the tackle game, are welcomed to join the proposed sessions.’’
