Elevating the status and needs of women and girls in PNG

The Economic and Public Sector Program (EPSP) is prioritising the status and needs of women and girls in Papua New Guinea.

EPSP is focusing on gender and social inclusion, and encouraging women in the public sector to take on leadership roles. The gender team have assisted the establishment of the Senior Women in the Public Sector Research Group in PNG, which aims to support, coach and mentor women of all ages.

EPSP are also working to improve men’s roles in ending violence against women – an issue in dire need of confronting in PNG, with an estimated 70% of women experiencing sexual assault in her lifetime.
